1974 Tartan 34C
About This Yacht
A 1974 Tartan 34C, a classic sailing yacht designed by Sparkman & Stephens in yawl configuration. The fiberglass hull was repainted with Alexseal coatings in 2022. Power comes from a Universal gasoline engine of 30 horsepower.
The boat has been substantially refitted and upgraded over its ownership for extended cruising. The engine was replaced with a Moyer Marine Atomic 4 in 2010. Navigation equipment includes recent Raymarine radar, AIS, a touchscreen chart plotter, and a depthfinder. Four Group 34 AGM batteries and 200 watts of solar panels provide electrical capacity. A Freedom 1500 inverter and charger manage onboard power.
Accommodations include a single head. The galley features a recent Force 10 propane range. Creature comforts comprise a Dometic 10,000 BTU marine air conditioner installed in 2010 and a recent Vitrifrigo refrigerator. The combination of navigation systems, power generation, and climate control reflects the owner's focus on long-range cruising capability.
