1975 Downeast Ketch

This 38-foot Downeast ketch is a fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1975 with a proven hull design suited to cruising. Power comes from a single 58-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine. The boat's masts and booms have been professionally stripped and repainted in recent years, and exterior paint has been refreshed within the last four years. Brightwork was renewed last season.

The rigging system has been substantially upgraded: standing and running rigging are new within the last seven years, and the mainsail is new within five years. Bottom paint is current. The yacht includes a complete custom winter cover and helm covers for protection.

Equipment aboard features a newer inflatable tender with a 15-horsepower Johnson outboard engine, providing independent mobility. The beam of 11 feet gives reasonable interior volume for a ketch of this length and era.
