The 1976 Ericson 36C is a classic ocean-going sailboat built with a fiberglass hull, fin keel, and flush deck layout. At 36 feet with a 12-foot beam, she offers a spacious cockpit and expansive interior finished in warm wood, a hallmark of the Ericson brand. Power comes from a low-hour 1991 Yanmar 3GM30F diesel engine of 27 horsepower. The boat underwent comprehensive refitting between 2019 and 2025, with documented work exceeding $60,000.
The interior is arranged around a forward V-berth with a closing door, memory foam mattresses, and a filler that converts to a double bed. The main cabin features a galley with refrigeration, freezer, LP gas stove with oven, and microwave on the starboard side, with a lounge and settee opposite. A full head with shower and double-access doors sits port side. Aft of the companionway, a chartroom with navigation station, dining table, hanging locker, and enclosed cabinet for electronics connects to a quarter berth and rear berth. A double butterfly hatch provides ventilation and natural light.
The rigging and sail plan include three sails: a North main and staysail both new in 2019 and lightly used, plus a jib with new roller furling and forestay fitted in 2021. The mast was pulled in 2021 and received new wiring, lights, wind vane, and VHF antenna. All standing rigging was replaced that same year. A Lewmar H3Gypsy windlass with remote control was installed in 2021, supported by a dedicated deep-cycle battery. All eight Barlow winches were serviced, cleaned, and reinstalled.
Electronics and navigation systems are comprehensive, including dual Raymarine Axiom Pro MFD chartplotters with Navionics, Quantum 2 radar, autopilot, dual I-70 instrument displays, Simrad VHF with AIS, and a binnacle-mounted compass. A solar tower supports two solar panels and antennas. The electrical system was rebuilt with new circuit panel, battery charging, solar control, and galvanic isolators. The head features a new sanitation system with a 16-gallon holding tank, Y-valve, manual pump, and macerator. An EPIRB and liferaft are included. The bottom was completely refinished in January 2025 with hull sanding and premium paint applied after cosmetic blister repairs.
