1976 Hatteras 53 Convertible

This 1976 Hatteras 53 Convertible is a fiberglass sportfisher powered by twin diesel Detroit engines rated at 1,740 horsepower combined, delivering a cruising speed of 20 knots and a top speed of 24 knots. The boat underwent a complete structural and systems rebuild that included stripping to the stringers and rebuilding the interior in light oak. All plumbing and electrical systems were replaced during the overhaul, and the engines themselves were rebuilt with a 35-percent power increase over the original specification. The port engine has approximately 80 hours since major overhaul; the starboard engine approximately 475 hours.

The yacht accommodates three staterooms and includes two heads, a modern galley, and salon. The flybridge features a custom helm console and has been substantially reconfigured; a tower and outriggers were added to support sportfishing operations.

The cockpit is laid out for serious anglers, with a custom tackle center, bait freezer, live baitwell, teak sole, teak covering boards, and fighting chair. The exterior received a fresh coat of Alexseal Off White paint from the rub rail up as part of ongoing maintenance through 2026.
