1990 Viking 53 Convertible

This 1990 Viking 53 Convertible is a classic sportfisher built on a fiberglass hull and powered by twin MAN diesel engines producing 1,880 horsepower combined, capable of reaching 30 knots. The boat carries 900 gallons of fuel capacity for extended range. A 16-foot 6-inch beam provides the stability and volume characteristic of the model.

The interior includes three staterooms and two heads arranged around a generous salon with galley positioned forward. Throughout 2020, the accommodations received substantial updates: new hard surface countertops in the galley and heads, new flooring throughout, new appliances including a Sub-Zero refrigerator and microwave, fresh mattresses in all staterooms, new fixtures, and a new sectional. Additional interior systems have since been refreshed, including new air conditioning units in both the salon (2024) and a stateroom (2021).

The flybridge offers panoramic sightlines and comfortable seating, with the helm positioned to provide clear views of all four corners for maneuvering. The cockpit and flybridge feature new Gator Steps. Navigation and communication include new Garmin VHF units installed in 2020, and audio entertainment runs through a new JL Audio and Fusion sound system.

Recent maintenance includes a new Reverso oil change system (2021), new Vacuflush head systems in both heads (2023), new battery chargers (2025), fresh bottom paint (2026), and new rudders, bushings, and packing (2026). The hull has received a fresh buff and wax (2025) and new cutlass bearings (2026). The boat has been maintained under cover in freshwater since 2019.
