1977 Bertram 28 Flybridge Cruiser

This 1977 Bertram 28 is a fiberglass flybridge cruiser with a deep-V hull, 11-foot beam, and three-foot draft. Twin MerCruiser 5.7L engines with Vortec roller cam design deliver 260 horsepower each, paired with 2-barrel carburators and computer-controlled ignition systems. The boat holds 160 gallons of fuel and 25 gallons of fresh water.

A comprehensive restoration was completed in 2021, with significant mechanical work ongoing through 2026. The engines feature new long blocks installed during the refit, and compression testing in 2026 showed approximately 190 PSI across all cylinders. Spark plugs were replaced at that time, and engine oil has been serviced at intervals under 30 hours. The fuel tank was replaced in 2025, and new fuel filters and water separators were installed. Heat exchangers and transmission coolers are new; raw water pumps were rebuilt in 2024 and heat exchangers inspected in 2026.

Drivetrain systems include ZF 63 gearboxes in a straight shaft, direct drive configuration—one new and one rebuilt—with gear oil changed in 2025. The cooling system received new antifreeze in 2025. Engines are regularly flushed with Salt Away after use. The boat has one cabin and one head.
