This 1978 Cigarette 36 is one of five examples built that year by designer Donald Aronow. Twin 540 cubic inch V8 engines, each producing 730 horsepower and custom-built by legendary engine builder Keith Eickert, power the boat through Speedmaster 3A surface drives. The engines have fewer than 30 hours since their most recent professional refresh by Entec Marine, with full service records available. The boat reaches approximately 76 mph and has been maintained in freshwater throughout its life.
The hull features Kevlar reinforcement in a rare staggered widebody configuration and wears white paint in good overall condition. The boat has a distinctive left-hand helm setup with original gauges and switches that remain functional, though they present an opportunity for modernization. Two stand-up bolster seats occupy the helm area, with additional rear bench seating for passengers.
Below deck, the cabin offers a full-length padded lounging and sleeping surface, a galley with sink and mini fridge, and an enclosed cabin area with additional padded berth space. These amenities support both day runs and overnight stays.
A tri-axle aluminum trailer is included with the boat. Decking and canvas are in good condition throughout. The boat's documented history traces its connection to offshore racer Gil Lieber, the original owner, and Keith Eickert's engine work and racing program.
