The Grand Banks 42 is a semi-displacement design that has proven itself as one of the most enduring trawler-style yachts ever built. Her hull form—marked by a tall bow, hard chines, and full keel—draws just four feet two inches, combining shallow draft with seaworthiness. Twin Ford Lehman diesel engines of 120 horsepower each propel her at a cruising speed of nine to ten knots, with a maximum speed of fourteen knots.
Below deck, the interior is finished throughout in teak. The main salon houses the galley forward to port with the lower helm station opposite. Access to the full walkaround decks is provided by a sliding door at the helm, making deck work and movement secure and straightforward.
Accommodations include two staterooms and two heads. The master cabin is aft and features a walkaround double berth with split head and shower compartments. The forward stateroom contains V-berths.
