The 1978 Roughwater 41 is a classic pilothouse trawler designed by Ed Monk. Built with a solid fiberglass hull and traditional wood upper structures and decks, this 41-foot boat presents the rugged, seaworthy character typical of the type. A single Perkins 185 hp diesel engine powers the boat to a cruising speed of around 9 knots, with 519 hours recorded on the engine.
The interior has been customized with high-gloss teak paneling set against white paint and custom checkered tile flooring, creating a clean and comfortable living space. The layout accommodates seven: an aft cabin with port and starboard double berths, a private head, and a separate shower; a forward V-berth for two with its own head; and a salon with a pull-out sofa bed. All interior soft goods are reported in excellent condition.
The hull and overall structure are sound. The house requires minor paint work—some bubbling is present on the port and starboard sides—and the varnished rails are due for recoating. The bimini and rear isinglass panel on the back deck are in good condition; the two rear side isinglass panels will need replacement.
