1978 Tartan 37

This 1978 Tartan 37 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built to the proven Sparkman & Stephens design, known for strong sailing performance and comfortable cruising. She is powered by a Westerbeke 40 diesel engine and equipped with a Raymarine autopilot, making her well-suited for extended passages.

The boat has undergone extensive upgrades across nearly all systems. Recent work includes a new mainsail cover and bottom paint in 2025, refurbished swing centerboard in 2024, replaced lifelines in 2021, and new genoa and running rigging in 2021. The engine area has been refreshed with new gauges for RPM, temperature, and oil pressure, along with a new fuel level gauge and sender installed in 2025. A new windlass and 300 feet of anchor rode were added in 2020.

Interior improvements span comfort and functionality. A new AC and heat system was installed in 2022, along with a hot water heater and replacement headliner. The galley received updated countertops, a double sink, new faucet, and new propane tank with electric safety cutoff. Fresh water plumbing was replaced in 2021, and the enclosed head features a new blackwater pump and faucet. Electrical upgrades include new shore power inlet and panel in 2023, new batteries and battery monitor in 2021, and partial 12V rewiring. A VHF radio was added in 2020. New windspeed and direction electronics display was installed in 2025.

The boat is ready to cruise with its combination of recent mechanical, electrical, and systems upgrades.
