This 1978 Vindo 90 is a classic ketch-rigged sailing yacht built by the Swedish yard Nötesunds Varv. At 42 feet overall with a beam of nearly 13 feet, she combines proven offshore capability with thoughtful design. The fiberglass hull sits on a long keel with five tonnes of lead ballast, and displacement is approximately 14 tonnes. She is powered by a Yanmar 4JH110 diesel engine producing 110 horsepower, paired with 600 litres of fuel capacity across three stainless steel tanks. The teak deck and mahogany interior reflect the quality of her original construction.
The yacht accommodates two cabins and two heads in an owner-focused layout. The forward cabin has electric toilet facilities installed in 2023, while the aft cabin offers two berths with new mattresses. The main saloon features a U-shaped settee opposite another berth, convertible to a double. A separate navigation station with chart table sits forward of the galley, which is L-shaped with a gimbal-mounted gas stove, double sink, and two refrigerators. The aft head includes a manual toilet, sink, and shower. Throughout, upholstery was renewed in 2019.
The rig consists of Selden main and mizzen masts with fully battened mainsail (35.3 square metres), Genoa I (42.5 square metres), roller-furling jib, and mizzen (12.2 square metres), plus parasailor and spinnaker pole. Raymarine electronics include wind gauge, depth sounder, log, radar, chartplotter, autopilot, and AIS. Additional systems include a watermaker, solar panels, diesel heater, bow thruster installed in 2018, and Hydrovane wind-vane steering. Fresh water capacity is 600 litres with hot water boiler, and 250 litres blackwater tank. Battery banks and electrical systems were upgraded recently. A comprehensive overhaul occurred in 1994–1995, with ongoing technical renewals documented throughout her ownership.
