The 1979 Cherubini 44 is a classic fiberglass cruising yacht with solid construction throughout. Built using high-strength, no-core laminated fiberglass, the hull features all bronze thru-hull fittings, a solid mahogany bowsprit, and stainless steel stern rails and lifelines. She is powered by a single Westerbeke 63 hp diesel engine with a bronze three-blade propeller and stainless steel shaft, complemented by a bow thruster for maneuvering. The boat carries a 4 kW Onan generator and a full suite of electrical systems including new battery installations and charging equipment.
The accommodation consists of two cabins offering five berths total: the main cabin has two pilot berths and a settee, while the aft cabin features a double berth. Both heads have been equipped with modern systems—an aft electric vacuum flush toilet and a forward manual head. Pressurized hot and cold water throughout the yacht serves the galley, which is fitted with an LPG three-burner stove and oven, and a refrigeration unit. Main salon air conditioning provides climate control.
Navigation and safety equipment include GPS and radar, an autopilot, VHF with DSC capability, and comprehensive safety systems. The rig is a fractional cutter with in-mast furling for both main and mizzen sails; the genoa and main sails are relatively recent. An electric windlass with chain and an AB dinghy with aluminum bottom complete the setup.
Recent work has included a full bottom paint applied in 2024 and comprehensive updates to exterior wood, electrical systems, battery configuration, and wiring. The engine has 7,450 hours on record with a major rebuild completed in 2005.
