1979 Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht

The 1979 Hatteras 53 is a fiberglass motor yacht powered by twin Detroit diesel engines producing 960 horsepower. At 53 feet in length with a 15-foot 10-inch beam, this classic cruising design remains well-proportioned for both coastal and open-water operation. The boat has had two owners across its history.

The interior accommodates three staterooms and three heads, along with a galley that was updated in 2015 with new countertops, sink, refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The aft sundeck provides open-air space for dining and entertaining. Mahogany paneling throughout the interior was fully refinished in December 2025.

Recent maintenance and upgrades include bottom paint and running gear refinished in August 2025, the complete exterior repainted in 2016, and a fresh compound and wax application in August 2025. The flybridge aluminum rigid top was recovered in white Stamoid in October 2025. A Freedom tender lift was installed in 2019, and port and starboard shaft seals were replaced in July 2025. All air-conditioning units were serviced in December 2025. The hull received Awlgrip paint in 2015 that remains in good condition.
