1979 O'Day 28

The O'Day 28 is a classic sailing yacht built in 1979, designed for comfortable cruising with responsive sailing characteristics. This fiberglass hull measures 28 feet in length with a 10-foot-3-inch beam, offering a proven platform favored by cruising sailors. Power comes from an 18 hp Yanmar diesel engine with saildrive, installed in 2000.

The interior is arranged across two cabins and one head, with a nicely proportioned layout suited to comfortable cruising. New upholstery was added in 2023. The cockpit is arranged for comfortable operation, with cushions and a wheel steering system whose quadrant was rebuilt in 2024.

The boat carries working sails including a Doyle battened mainsail and a Doyle 130% genoa with a new sun cover. Canvas protection is provided by a dodger, bimini top, and sail cover. Varnished brightwork was refinished in 2023.
