1979 O'Day 37 Center Cockpit

The 1979 O'Day 37 is a center cockpit sloop built for coastal cruising. The design combines moderate displacement with an encapsulated fin keel and skeg-protected rudder, delivering capable performance across all points of sail. Power comes from a 1995 Universal diesel four-cylinder engine rated at 32 horsepower with 1,015 hours of operation.

The interior holds two private staterooms, each with its own head and double berth. The aft cabin is fully separated for privacy. Recent improvements include new interior cushions throughout the main salon and v-berth (two years old), upgraded marine macerating toilets with fresh water capability, and recently replaced plumbing and bilge hoses. All engine hoses have been replaced as well, along with a new exhaust canister and an updated instrument panel in the cockpit. The bottom was painted in July 2024 and a new PSS dripless shaft seal was installed.

Sails include a full-battened Ullman mainsail with stack pack and lazy jacks on a Tides sail track, plus an Ullman 140 genoa on a Harken furler. A symmetrical spinnaker and pole are included. The cockpit features five self-tailing winches, a dodger, and an awning for weather protection.

Navigation and safety equipment comprises a new Simrad multifunction chart plotter, new Simrad radar, a two-year-old Standard Horizon VHF with GPS, autopilot, and instruments for depth, speed, and wind.
