1979 Southern Ocean 60

The Southern Ocean 60 is a 60-foot composite cruising sailboat built in 1979, designed for serious ocean passages. The hull and rig reflect the builder's reputation for solid construction and sea-keeping ability.

The interior comprises five cabins and two heads, with a dedicated sail locker. Accommodation includes two double cabins and five single berths, arranged for comfortable extended cruising. A laundry space is also fitted.

Recent major refitting has included new standing rigging and sails. The power plant is a 120-horsepower Perkins six-cylinder diesel engine, which has been overhauled. The electrical system features approximately 800 watts of solar panels, a new battery bank, and 1,800 liters of fresh water storage. Navigation and ship's electronics are installed and fully operational, with components either new or reconditioned.
