1980 Hatteras 50 Convertible

This 1980 Hatteras 50 Convertible is a twin-diesel fishing and cruising yacht with a comprehensive recent refit. The boat was repowered in 2020 with twin Detroit Diesel 450hp 8V92 engines and now carries 300 operating hours. Systems throughout have been updated, including new Garmin and Lowrance electronics, upgraded ZF throttles and controls, five Cruisair air conditioning units, and a newer Onan generator. The fighting chair, livewell, freezers, and multiple fish boxes support serious offshore fishing.

Accommodations span three staterooms and two heads, sleeping eight. The master stateroom features a queen berth with TV and ensuite head with shower. Forward and amidships staterooms both have over-under bunks and full AC control. The salon includes an L-shaped sofa convertible to a double berth, twin bucket seats, and galley with electric range, side-loading refrigerator, and microwave. A washer and dryer are installed in the amidships hallway.

The flybridge helm offers dual stations with full instrumentation and integrated radar display. A tuna tower with secondary controls sits above. The cockpit is fitted for fishing with transom door, top-loading freezer, storage, and rigging for outriggers and rod holders. Deck systems include electric windlass, washdown with foot pedal, and large Danforth anchor. A new Ocean Rib 360 inflatable dinghy with center console and Mercury 5hp four-stroke outboard is included.

Recent work includes new pressure water system, water heater, electric toilets, fire system rebuild, sea cock valves, battery chargers, headliner and reupholstery in main areas, new bridge cushions, and comprehensive electronics and engine control upgrades completed within the last several years.
