The Nauticat 44 is a Finnish-built motorsailer combining classic design with extensive modern systems. Built in 1980, this 43.64-foot yacht features a fiberglass hull powered by a Ford Lehman 135 hp diesel engine that was fully overhauled in 2020 and has logged only 878 hours. The boat carries four cabins with seven berths and two heads, making it suitable for families or extended cruising. Twin steering stations — a pilothouse and aft cockpit — provide flexibility in various sea conditions.
Between 2018 and 2025, the yacht underwent comprehensive reconstruction. The engine received a complete overhaul, and the Velvet gearbox was rebuilt in 2024 with a new heat exchanger and hydraulic lines. All through-hull fittings were replaced with TruDesign composite valves, and a new variable-pitch JPROP propeller was installed in 2023. The electrical system is entirely new, including wiring, switchboards, LED lighting, and USB charging outlets. Navigation equipment includes a full Raymarine suite with radar, sonar, AIS, and multi-display systems added in 2023–2024, along with Starlink satellite internet fitted in 2024.
The sail plan comprises new tri-radial sails from 2024 — mainsail, mizzen, and genoa — with all standing and running rigging renewed. A new Facnor LS165 genoa furler and four Lewmar 40ST self-tailing winches (2023) support efficient sail handling. A Lofrans Tiger 1500W windlass with 37 kg anchor and 150 m chain completes the ground tackle. The boat carries 1,200 liters of fresh water and 550 liters of fuel, supplemented by an 865-watt solar array with Victron controllers. New Flexiteek decks, portholes, and deck glazing were installed in 2021–2022. A tender and outboard are included, along with safety gear including an Ocean 6-man liferaft and SOLAS lifejackets.
