This Nordic 44 was designed by Robert Perry and built in Bellingham, Washington. The fiberglass hull is substantial at 44 feet with a 12-foot 11-inch beam, and the design is noted for strong performance in heavy conditions while remaining manageable in lighter air. A 50-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine powers the boat. The large cockpit features deep coamings suited to Bay sailing, and below deck the accommodation retains classic styling with deck prisms bringing natural light to the interior.
The boat has been maintained consistently over more than two decades of cruising, including extended time in Mexico and the Delta. Recent work includes new electronics and fuel tank installed in 2013, a rebuilt V-drive in 2020, and bottom paint applied in August 2024. The diesel engine starts readily from cold and runs without smoke.
