1980 Wellington 44

This 1980 Wellington 44 is a fiberglass center-cockpit cruising sailboat powered by a 90 hp Ford diesel engine with a cruising speed of 7 knots. The boat has undergone a comprehensive multi-year refit in which systems throughout were addressed and renewed, including a complete rewiring, new mechanical systems, and professional Awlgrip painting of the hull, topsides, mast, and boom.

The accommodations consist of an aft master cabin with private head and shower, a forward guest cabin, and a second head forward, both heads equipped with showers and sump pumps. The galley features new stainless steel appliances including a double sink, Force 10 three-burner stove with oven, dual Engel refrigerator-freezers, reverse osmosis water system, and multi-stage water filtration. Interior storage is generous throughout.

The refit included a new Ford Nor'East Super 90 diesel engine with fewer than 40 hours of operation, new ZF transmission, new Vetus bow thruster, new Lewmar electric windlass, and completely redesigned steering with new cables and blocks. New standing and rigging running rigging, chain plates, and sail tracks were installed. The deck features custom stainless steel full-length rails, a stern arch with integrated dinghy davits, swim platform, and dual anchor rollers.

Electronics and electrical systems are new and comprehensive: Garmin chartplotter with integrated radar, autopilot, wind and depth instruments; new Icom SSB and VHF radios; complete rewiring throughout; 8kw Phasor generator with approximately 5 hours of use; six AGM house batteries; Victron 3000w inverter-charger and solar controller; two 365w solar panels; and three new Dometic reverse-cycle air conditioning units. The boat carries new roller furling main, genoa, and staysail.
