The 1981 Lazy Days 50 is a 50-foot aluminum-hulled houseboat powered by twin Volvo Penta engines producing 400 horsepower combined. Both engines were replaced in 2006 and now have approximately 775 hours of estimated use. The boat cruises at 7 knots and features stern drives for maneuverability. A Westerbeke 11kW generator provides onboard power.
The 14-foot beam supports a full walk-around gunwale and roomy accommodations. The main salon includes a fireplace and wet bar, with an interior topside hatch and teak ladder providing access. The layout comprises two staterooms and one head. The galley is equipped with a full-size refrigerator-freezer, four-burner range with oven and hood vent, large stainless steel sink, and substantial storage. The main stateroom features a queen bed, ample storage, private head access, and a sliding glass door to the aft deck. A guest stateroom to port includes a double bunk with hanging storage and drawers. The boat also has an onboard washer and dryer and an enclosed shower tub in the head.
The design includes dual helm stations and a dual control flybridge with a spacious upper party deck. Forward, there is a sportsman-style foredeck with a sliding glass door, docking lights, and boarding gates to port and starboard. The aft deck provides sturdy working space with aluminum engine hatches. The boat is aluminum throughout and has been maintained as a live-aboard.
