The Morgan 462 is a 46-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1981 to Henry Scheel's proven bluewater design. Her hull is notably robust, constructed with nearly two inches of solid fiberglass throughout—no coring material—which has earned the Morgan 462 a reputation as one of the strongest fiberglass monohulls ever built. A keel-stepped mast provides additional structural integrity for offshore work. The boat cruises at 8.5 knots under power from a Perkins 4-154 diesel engine.
The interior features a two-cabin, two-head layout. The aft stateroom includes an athwartship berth and an ensuite head with bathtub and shower. A walk-through passage connects the aft cabin to the main salon, with a workshop and accessible engine room positioned between. Two companionways—one from the aft cabin and one from the salon—provide separate access points. A center cockpit offers protection and good visibility for offshore sailing.
The boat has been well maintained throughout her operational life. The diesel engine remains in good working order, typical of the Perkins 4-154's known durability over decades of service. A dehumidifier runs continuously to maintain the interior environment. She is ready to be recommissioned into active cruising service.
