1981 Sea Ranger 45 Sea Ranger

This 45-foot Sea Ranger is a raised pilothouse trawler built in 1981 by C&L Marine in Taiwan. The hull is solid fiberglass with a semi-displacement design, measuring 14 feet 9 inches at the beam and drawing approximately 4 feet 3 inches. Power comes from a Volvo Penta TAMD-40 turbocharged diesel engine producing 165 horsepower, paired with a Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission. The boat cruises at around 8 knots and reaches a maximum speed of approximately 11 knots. A Westerbeke 8kW diesel generator provides onboard power, and a WESMAR bow thruster aids maneuvering.

The raised pilothouse offers excellent visibility from the helm station, while fiberglass decks with teak accents define the exterior. The boat includes two queen-berth staterooms, one full head with shower, a spacious Europa-style salon with excellent windows, and a functional galley. Storage comprises 612 gallons of fuel across six aluminum tanks, 200 gallons of fresh water, and a 30-gallon holding tank. Navigation electronics include a Lowrance LCX-28c HD sounder, Garmin GPS861xsv with Fantom Dome 18X radar, and Lowrance Link 8 VHF radio.

Recent work has included replacement of the propeller, shaft, and fuel tanks, along with freshwater and engine circulation pumps. The windlass was rebuilt in 2021, heat exchangers were serviced that same year, and a bottom job was completed in November 2024. Four 100-watt solar panels with a VictronConnect controller provide supplemental power. The boat comes with a 2002 Achilles 10-foot 2-inch rigid inflatable tender and outboard engine.
