A 1982 Custom Jersey Speed Skiff built on a second-generation Bender hull, this 16-foot fiberglass performance boat combines classic speed skiff design with a purposeful mechanical rebuild. Powered by a Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch engine producing 400 horsepower, paired with a Paragon transmission, the boat is capable of 80 miles per hour. The engine is fitted with a Weiland aluminum intake manifold, Holley Brawler 750 CFM carburetor, mechanical fuel pump, and Glenwood exhaust manifolds. A Jabsco belt-driven water pump handles cooling, while the electrical system has been completely rewired with a new kill switch, alternator, battery, and brand new liquid-filled gauges.
The propulsion package includes a newly installed propeller shaft and bearing, a Glenwood steel speed rudder with 1 1/8-inch shaft, and a drop-through strut mounted at 12 degrees. The adjustable cavitation plate allows fine-tuning of performance. A 15-gallon fuel tank supplies the engine, and the boat sits on a trailer fitted with a newly installed tongue swing kit.
The hull shows no signs of rot or water damage. The cosmetic condition of the engine compartment and bow interior reflects the boat's history, though the mechanical systems have been prioritized for soundness and functionality. The package includes the boat, motor, and trailer as a complete unit.
