This 1982 custom ketch was designed by Kurt A. Oehlmann and built by Kufra Werft in Lübeck as a serious offshore cruiser. At 53 feet with an aluminum hull and a lifting keel that ranges from 1.25 to 2.45 metres, she combines shallow-draft capability with ocean-going strength. She holds CE Category A certification and is registered in Slovenia, reflecting her bluewater design and proven seaworthiness.
The ketch rig carries a fully battened mainsail, furling genoa, cruising gennaker, and storm jib. Lazyjacks, lazy bag, and genoa cover make sail handling feasible for a small crew. Twin Mercedes diesel engines—an OM615 and OM616—cruise at 7 knots, with a bow thruster for tight quarters. Fuel capacity totals 5,000 litres across two tanks. The redundancy of twin powerplants is built throughout the design.
Below deck, six cabins accommodate a double, a skipper's cabin, and four guest cabins with bunk configurations, including one that sleeps four. Two heads serve the guest areas, with separate crew quarters. The galley includes an oven, refrigerator, and hot water. Heating is installed throughout. Teak finishes the cockpit and side decks.
This custom aluminum ketch represents rare bluewater construction with a versatile layout suited equally to extended cruising, charter work, or liveaboard use. The twin engines have recent service hours, and the rig rewards capable seamanship without demanding it.
