The 1982 Hinterhoeller Nonsuch is a 26-foot fiberglass sailing yacht designed for single-handed operation and comfortable cruising. Built with the cat rig configuration featuring an unstayed aluminum mast and wishbone boom, she offers simplicity and ease of handling. The boat is powered by a 27-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine with direct drive, supported by a 24-gallon fuel tank. Her modest 10.5-foot beam and 4.5-foot draft make her responsive and manageable while maintaining excellent stability, with 8,500 pounds displacement and 2,750 pounds of ballast.
Below deck, accommodations include berths for four with a forward Pullman berth and two quarter berths aft. The cabin features teak and holly sole flooring and 6 feet 1 inch of headroom. An L-shaped galley holds a two-burner stove, icebox, and sink, while the spacious salon provides settees and a dining table. An enclosed head with marine toilet and sink completes the interior layout, with ample locker and stowage throughout.
The yacht carries modern electronics including a Garmin navigation system, VHF radio, depth sounder, wind instrument, autopilot, and stereo with cockpit speakers. A full batten mainsail was replaced in 2000, and sails are managed by Barient self-tailing winches. Water capacity is 60 gallons, with 20 gallons holding tank capacity.
Recent improvements include a refrigerator compressor replacement in 2024, solar panels from 2017, lifelines replaced in 2021, new cabin top cleats from 2023, a chimney heater added in 2022, custom bow and helm seats from 2021, and a dodger with bimini top and full enclosure from 2016. An auto bilge pump and through-hull shut-off valve are installed. Canvas protection and a winter storage cradle with enclosure structure are included.
