1982 Sea Ranger Searanger

The 1982 Sea Ranger Searanger is a 47-foot fiberglass pilothouse trawler powered by twin Detroit 4-53 turbo diesel engines, each producing 175 horsepower. Twin propellers and optimized hull form deliver a cruising speed of 8 knots with good fuel efficiency. The boat spans 15 feet in beam and is built for extended coastal cruising, with a command bridge offering 360-degree visibility and weather protection throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The layout flows from an aft salon finished in teak and teak-holly flooring, through a well-equipped galley, up to the pilothouse helm, and forward to three staterooms. The master cabin amidships features a full walk-around double berth with ensuite head and shower. Two guest cabins forward—one with double pullman berth, one with bunks—each have overhead hatches and natural light. A separate guest head with shower serves the forward accommodations. The pilothouse includes a comfortable settee with table, pilot berth, and captain's chair, along with a full suite of navigation electronics: twin Garmin chartplotters, radar, Nobletec navigation software, autopilot, VHF radio, and depth sounder. An Onan genset and 7.5-kW Xantrex inverter supply auxiliary power.

Deck areas include an enclosed aft deck, wide side decks suitable for working, and a spacious command bridge with large settees and additional helm controls. Teak decks are through-fastened with stainless steel, and an electric windlass with foredeck and dual helm controls secures a 65-pound anchor on all-chain rode. An 11.6-foot Polaris RIB with 25-horsepower outboard and lifting crane complete the tender package.

Recent maintenance includes new house battery banks installed in 2024, a full flybridge enclosure with Isinglass, custom fiberglass swim step with safety railings, newer holding tank, Northern Lights generator, reupholstered flybridge and cockpit cushions, upgraded interior blinds, and new salon seating. In 2010, the bottom was stripped and epoxy-barrier-coated to prevent blistering. Engine hours stand at 3,881 and 3,815, reflecting steady, measured use.
