1982 Shannon Pilothouse

This 1982 Shannon Pilothouse is one of nine pilothouse cutters built on Shannon's respected 38-foot hull design. Rigged as an Intercoastal Waterway cutter, she is configured for offshore voyaging with a long keel and attached rudder that provide directional stability and protection to running gear. The pilothouse design allows comfortable sailing or motoring at trawler speeds in rough conditions.

The boat is powered by a single Yammer diesel engine producing 45 horsepower, with cruising speeds around 6 knots and a maximum speed of 7 knots. The fiberglass hull measures 38 feet in length with an 11.5-foot beam.

The boat carries a full inventory of safety gear and sails suitable for all conditions and points of sail, prepared for offshore passages. She has undergone more than $225,000 in improvements over the past five years, reflecting work guided by expert marine surveying knowledge. Systems and components throughout the boat have been refreshed and upgraded.
