The Starwind 19 is a Jim Taylor design that brings cabin sailing into a genuinely trailerable package. At 19 feet with a 7.5-foot beam, this fiberglass sloop balances interior accommodation with ease of towing behind most moderate-sized vehicles. The pivot centerboard design draws just 18 inches with the board up and 4 feet 6 inches down, giving access to shallow waters while maintaining the stability of a proper keel boat—approximately 400 pounds of fixed ballast makes her exceptionally stiff and resistant to capsizing.
The cockpit accommodates three to four adults comfortably, with a protected cabin below suited as a primary berth for two or flexible sleeping for a couple with children. One head is fitted below. The centerboard operates from the cockpit with a single hand without leaving the tiller, requiring no winch. The galvanized trailer is sturdy and rated for distance hauling.
Power comes from a 5-horsepower Mercury outboard on a long shaft. The exterior surfaces are well-maintained and show cleanly. The interior cushions are in attractive condition. Everything is ready to sail.
