1983 Kadey-Krogen 42

This 1983 Kadey-Krogen 42 is a fiberglass trawler built for comfortable cruising. Powered by a single 135 hp Ford engine, it achieves a cruising speed of 8 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots, with a 15 kW Onan generator for onboard power. The hull measures 42 feet in length with a 15-foot beam.

The interior follows the standard floor plan with two cabins and two heads. The master stateroom features a large double bed offset to starboard. Forward of the master is a convertible space offering flexible sleeping arrangements—choose between converting the sofa or using a fold-down pullman berth. The salon includes an additional convertible sofa and multiple seating options, with a galley for food preparation. Reverse-cycle heating and air conditioning are installed throughout.

Docking is simplified by a Dickson stern thruster with helm remote control, allowing the operator to back the yacht into a slip from the aft deck. The 135 Ford/Lehman engine shows 6,060 hours and is current on all services. The generator runs 2,660 hours and is also current on maintenance.

Recent work includes replacement of all batteries with 4 x 440 amp-hour units and installation of a new 3,500-watt Victron inverter/charger in 2024. A Dometic ac/dc refrigerator/freezer was fitted in 2022. Three air-conditioning units are less than ten years old.
