A 37-foot Lord Nelson cruiser built in fiberglass with a proven Yanmar 4LH-DTE diesel engine rated at 170 horsepower. The boat cruises efficiently at 7 knots on 1.8 gallons per hour, or 8 knots at 2.75 gallons per hour. Power comes through a Hurth HBW 50 transmission and a three-blade bronze propeller with shaft-line cutter. A Vetus 3kW bow thruster aids maneuvering in tight quarters.
Below deck, the layout includes one cabin with a split-head arrangement and a full galley. The boat sleeps five and carries substantial tankage: 250 gallons of fuel, 195 gallons of fresh water, and 40 gallons for the holding tank. Dual air conditioning units cool the main cabin, galley, and stateroom. Recent upgrades include two new AGM 8-D batteries and a new starter motor.
Navigation and monitoring are handled by Raymarine electronics: a color chartplotter with GPS, radar, autopilot, and a Floscan fuel flow monitor. The original mast and boom remain in service. An electric windlass anchor, St. Croix davits, and a dinghy with Torqeedo electric motor complete the systems. A pudgy dinghy is included.
The hull has been soda blasted, stripped, and finished with an epoxy barrier coat applied using the West System method. Engine controls are centralized in the pilothouse with gauges for oil and water temperature, oil and transmission pressure, DC voltage for both house and start batteries, plus controls for the engine stop, DC plug, and windshield wipers.
