1983 Mainship 34 MKIII

This 1983 Mainship 34 MKIII is a fiberglass cruiser-trawler with a modified V-hull and chines designed for a dry ride, supported by a long steel keel. The boat is 34 feet long with an 11-foot beam and draws 4 feet of water. The hull features a newer anti-foul bottom, dark blue Awlgrip topsides, and light beige antiskid on the deck. Stainless steel rails, handholds, and a refinished teak ladder to the upper bridge are in excellent condition. Large fenders, a swim platform, and a transom door complete the exterior setup.

Power comes from a single 210-horsepower Perkins diesel that runs smoothly at less than 3 gallons per hour at 8 knots and is capable of over 10 knots. Two 112.5-gallon diesel tanks provide over 70 hours of cruising range. The engine features closed-loop freshwater cooling and dual Raycor filters. A 30-pound plow anchor with electric windlass, spare davit anchor, and a fold-down mast with fittings for radar and wind sensor complete the deck gear. A 10-foot Bris dinghy with a new 5-horsepower Honda four-stroke engine is included.

The salon features a teak and holly sole, comfortable seating with a pull-out berth, large tinted windows with bug screens, and a new 120-volt air conditioner. The galley has a three-burner propane stove with oven and a 12/120-volt refrigerator. The head includes a stand-up shower and seawater pump toilet. The forward V-berth sleeps two adults and has fresh cushions and covers. Four new house batteries, a Xantrex inverter, multiple chargers, and 400 watts of solar panels power 12 and 120-volt systems.

Electronics include a Garmin GPSmap 840xs with wireless wind sensor and through-hull speed and depth log, Raytheon Pathfinder radar, and two VHF radios. Some minor issues are present: surface cracking in the deck fiberglass consistent with age, repairable swim platform damage, a non-functional upper engine temperature gauge, a non-working Volvo generator, and a non-functional horn. A 1,100-watt Honda portable generator is included with the boat.
