1983 O'Day 34

This 1983 O'Day 34 is a 34-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built around generous accommodations and a reputation for comfortable cruising. The boat features a spacious cockpit and bright, open interior layout. Between 2015 and 2024, the yacht underwent extensive structural and mechanical updates, including a complete rebuild of the decks, cabin top, and portlights with professional fiberglass work and Kiwi Grip non-skid surfacing. The cockpit sole was finished with synthetic teak decking, and the keel joint was reinforced and barrier coated.

Below deck, the layout centers on a U-shaped galley to port, with an aft quarter berth and navigation station to starboard. A single settee adjoins the nav station, while a convertible settee sits opposite to port; a central dinette with storage rounds out the salon. Forward is a private head with shower and a spacious V-berth. The interior was extensively refinished, with new sole, cushions, mattresses, and custom window trim; newer ports and portlights were installed throughout.

The Universal M-25 diesel engine produces 21 horsepower and has received significant attention: a new starter and 103-amp alternator were installed in 2023, with new fuel injectors added in 2024. The propulsion system includes a new stainless prop shaft, cutless bearing, and dripless shaft seal from 2008. Navigation and monitoring systems are modern, featuring a Raymarine Axiom RV 9-inch multifunction display with i70 control head and Raymarine EV-100 autopilot, both installed in 2021. Electrical systems were completely rewired with new batteries and an ACR system.

The sailing inventory includes a new North Sails 130-percent cruising genoa from 2025 and a Neilson loose-footed mainsail with two reefs and full battens from 2016, plus spare sails: a main, genoa, storm jib, and 100-percent jib. A new Dyneema lazy jack system and Harken rigging controls were fitted in recent years. Canvas covers—dodger, Bimini, helm station cover, full winter cover, and cockpit enclosure—are all Sunbrella and included. A steel storage cradle is also provided.
