1983 Westerly Sealord 39

The Westerly Sealord 39 is a centre cockpit cruising yacht built in 1983, designed to handle extended passages with confidence. Only 42 were constructed between 1983 and 1987, making this model relatively uncommon. Powered by a single 56 hp Yanmar diesel engine with just 955 hours logged, the boat features in-mast furling and a deep, protective cockpit suited to longer voyages and rough conditions.

The layout below deck offers flexible accommodation across three separate areas. Forward is a double berth with infill and a heads with shower attachment to port, plus hanging lockers to starboard. The saloon features full surround seating with a port-side double berth conversion and a generous centre table with leaves for dining or entertaining. The well-equipped galley includes a fridge, cool box, stainless sink, and gas cooker with ample storage. A traditional navigation station sits to port, with a corridor aft providing additional storage and a third berth. The aft cabin offers a double berth to starboard and single to port, with a second heads and further storage.

Recent work completed prior to current ownership includes new standing rigging, new electrical systems, a new helm chartplotter, diesel heating system, fire safety equipment, and battery inverter. The current owner performed a cosmetic refit in 2021 with new upholstery, following earlier work in 2020. Deck surfaces are fibreglass with no teak, finished in bright white with new hatch covers, sprayhood, and wheel cover. Windows have been removed and re-seated to prevent UV crazing. The hull has been freshly polished and the underwater profile carries recent antifoul over a reduced copper coat.
