This 99-foot steel-hulled paddle wheeler was built as a custom explorer-class boat designed for passenger operations. Twin Cummins diesel engines rated at 370 horsepower each drive the vessel through twin-disc transmissions with 2.51:1 reduction gearing and stainless steel shafts. The boat is equipped with a Vetus bow thruster, dual-function push-pull engine controls, and includes a Northern Lights 30 kW generator and a Southwestern 20 kW generator for auxiliary power. Twin Interstate 2020 8-D batteries with dedicated charging systems support the electrical infrastructure.
The structural design employs heavy steel 6-inch I-beam longitudinal stringers for hull stiffness, and an enclosed ballast-type keel extends approximately 56 inches below the centerline aft of amidships. The hull incorporates clean garboard areas and a raked, rounded transom that flows into the forefoot. A custom rotary paddle wheel is mounted on the transom as the boat's distinctive propulsion feature.
The boat's layout supports extended passenger operations with a full galley service center including liquor storage, wine chiller, and refrigeration, paired with bar and dining service inventory. An air-conditioned wheelhouse contains full vessel controls and entertainment systems with speakers throughout. The interior features a comprehensive intercom connecting all deck levels to the engine room, with clearly labeled personal flotation device lockers distributed across multiple decks.
Tankage includes 1,750 gallons of fuel in a steel-built tank, 540 gallons of supply water across three plastic tanks, 180 gallons of potable water, and 750 gallons of wastewater capacity. Safety equipment comprises two Danforth 85-pound fluke anchors, one 155-pound dredge anchor, an Ideal windlass, a large-capacity CO2 fire suppression system, and navigation lights rated for 2-mile visibility. The boat holds a current U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection valid through November 2029.
