This 1984 Lord Nelson 37 Victory Tug is a fiberglass-hulled trawler with classic tugboat styling and a displacement hull design suited to extended cruising. The 37-foot boat carries a beam of just over 13 feet and draws 3 feet 6 inches, with a single Yanmar 4BY180 diesel engine rated at 180 horsepower paired with a Vetus bow thruster for maneuverability. The engine was replaced in 2011 and has logged 991 hours. An 8-kilowatt Westerbeke genset provides auxiliary power. The boat includes a walk-in engine room accessible from the pilothouse, along with comprehensive mechanical systems: a Racor fuel filter and water separator, PSS dripless prop shaft seal, electric bilge blowers, and twin auto/manual bilge pumps. Two 260-gallon aluminum fuel tanks feed the main engine, and four stainless steel tanks hold fresh water. Engine room sound insulation was replaced.
The galley sits to port and includes a Seafrost cold plate refrigerator/freezer, microwave, 3-burner propane stove with oven, electric water heater fed by the main engine manifold, and dual sinks with both pressure and manual pumps. The pressurized water system throughout runs PEX tubing. A diesel heater provides warmth. The head features a holding tank with macerator discharge. Battery systems were updated with new 8D Interstate banks in 2023, and a new starting battery for the generator and windlass was installed in 2022. A Raymarine autopilot was fitted in 2020.
Electronics include Furuno radar, chartplotter, depthsounder, and VHF radio, plus an Icon VHF and a 50-amp Charles battery charger from 2011. Topside systems feature a Halon fire control system, screened ports, and a pressurized sea strainer for the main engine.
The topsides wear off-white gelcoat, while the bottom was epoxy-coated and the topsides painted in blue and red Awlgrip in 2011. A unique HD rubber rub rail runs the perimeter. Deck equipment includes a Danforth anchor with 150 feet of chain and an anchor windlass, thru-hull hawse pipes with stainless strike plate, new stainless stern rails, a telescopic swim ladder, ladder access to the flying bridge, and a new mast with electric lifting boom and winches. A 250,000 candlepower Jabsco spotlight, ship's stack with propane storage, and stern shower station complete the deck layout.
