1984 Mirage 30

The 1984 Mirage 30 is a 30-foot Canadian-built fiberglass sailing yacht with a 10.5-foot beam. It is powered by a single 13-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, with a cruising speed of 6 knots and a maximum speed of 7 knots. The Mirage design is known for responsive sailing performance and suitability for waters like the Chesapeake Bay.

The boat has undergone comprehensive restoration and upgrades. Electrical systems were brought to current Coast Guard and ABYC standards, including new AC/DC panels, distribution systems, navigation station, bilge pumps, interior and navigation lighting, propane safety systems, and charging and power management infrastructure. Battery systems and wiring were completely renewed. A new windlass system and updated electronics and instrumentation were installed.

The hull has been treated with compounding and wax. Four cabin ports were removed, fitted with new glass and inner seals, with frames sandblasted and coated in zinc chromate primer before finishing in off-white Awlgrip paint. Cabin seating was refinished and repainted; teak handrails on the cabin top were restored to natural finish. A new 50-foot 30-amp 125-volt ship-to-shore shore power cord is included. The bimini top and sail covers are new, as are cabin cushions.

Prior repairs to the rudder, bottom, and keel were executed using vinyl ester resin in keeping with the boat's original construction method. New cabin ports, thru hull fittings, and bilge pumps complete the recent work.
