1984 Monk 36

The 1984 Monk 36 is a fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising. Powered by a Perkins 6.35 diesel engine with 7,495 hours, the boat measures 36 feet in length with a 13-foot beam and carries a single-cylinder Westerbeke 5kW generator for onboard power. A Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission was rebuilt in 2023.

A comprehensive refurbishment completed in 2022 included new wiring, electronics, batteries, inverter, paint, hot water heater, and air conditioning and heating systems. The teak deck was replaced with SeaDeck, and remaining teak trim, rails, and doors were sanded and sealed. Recent mechanical work in 2024 included a coolant overhaul on the generator with heat exchanger, exhaust manifold, and raw water pump service. Power comes from three 12-volt Renogy AGM 200 amp-hour batteries paired with a Cotek SL 3000 inverter-charger and two 220-watt solar panels with Victron charge controllers.

The boat features a Dickson hydraulic stern thruster with a rebuilt hydraulic tank installed in 2024, a Lewmar windlass with 200 feet of chain and 150 feet of line, and control stations at the helm and on deck. Navigation equipment includes a So-Tec SP 70 autopilot with handheld controller and a Simrad G 09 ESE system with HAL 020 radar and structure scan transducer. An 8-foot 10-inch Newport Vessels inflatable dinghy and dock stairs are included.

Accommodations comprise two cabins and one head. The aft captain's quarters has a walk-around bed with three full closets on port and drawer storage on starboard, plus a fully remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower and power flush toilet. The forward V-berth sleeps two with a dedicated head, drawers, closet, and storage. Both areas have custom Sunbrella window treatments. The galley is equipped with refrigerator, microwave, four-burner gas range with oven, ice maker, and coffee maker.
