1984 Moody 47

This 1984 Moody 47 centre cockpit yacht is a proven ocean-going cruiser built for long-distance passagemaking. The fiberglass hull features a hydraulically operated swing keel that draws just 1.45 metres, making her suitable for shallow Pacific waters. Standing rigging was recently replaced, and the hull carries Coppercoat antifouling protection for durability.

The layout includes two cabins and two heads, with a spacious aft master suite offering dual access. The centre cockpit is equipped with hydraulic winches and furling systems designed for short-handed sailing. A 75 hp Yanmar diesel engine from 2014 powers the yacht; the engine has just over 2,000 hours and is paired with a three-blade folding propeller. Cruising speed runs 6.5 knots, with a maximum speed of 8 knots.

The boat carries substantial systems for self-sufficient cruising: a 600 Ah lithium house battery bank, 700W solar array, large alternator, and a low-hours 7.5 kW generator. A watermaker is fitted, along with Starlink Gen 3 and Iridium Go communications equipment. A near-new 2024 tender package includes a 3.4-metre RIB with an 18 hp Tohatsu outboard, and an Airline EI60 Hookah dive system with 60-foot hose is aboard.

The yacht underwent a substantial refit in 2019–2020. A Yanmar 75 hp diesel engine powers her at cruising speeds of 6.5 knots.
