A 1984 Slocum 43 cutter built to Stan Huntingford's proven cruising design. The yacht features three roller-furled headsails and roller-furled mainsail, powered by a rebuilt Perkins 4.108 diesel engine of 50 hp. The fiberglass hull is reinforced with solid teak rubrails and caprails, notably thicker than typical construction, paired with a fiberglass bimini, dodger, and double-course stainless safety railings that inspire confidence in all-weather conditions. Wide side decks, raised bulwarks, and granny-bars at the mast complete the robust structural design.
The three-cabin, one-head layout offers comfortable accommodation for extended cruising. Below decks, a rebuilt transmission connects to the main engine with no recorded hours. A new 16,000-btu Dometic air conditioning unit supplements existing cooling. Power comes from six new Trojan 100-amp batteries alongside a newly installed 9.5 kW diesel generator and a new Silentwind 400-watt wind generator. A Force 10 stove and oven serve the galley area.
Exterior refits completed since mid-2023 include a reconfigured stern lazarette with improved generator access, new gelcoat on deck and sheer stripe, rebuilt anchor windlass, new zippers on the hard-top enclosure, and a new Hydrovane self-steering system with custom stern mount. Below, new fabric covers the settee, navigation station, and dining-area cushions, with new curtains throughout the main cabin spaces. All eight chainplates were removed, inspected, cleaned, and rebedded. A new Hidea 9.9 hp outboard dingy engine was also installed. The diesel generator was tested in June 2025.
