The Baba 40 Pilot House is a heavy displacement cutter-rigged cruising sailboat designed by Robert Perry. This 1985 fiberglass hull features a long keel with six-foot draft, white topside, and teak-covered decks. The boat carries a complete sail inventory including main, staysail, yankee, and spinnaker with spare sets of each. A single 65-horsepower Volvo diesel engine powers the yacht, supported by 125 gallons of fuel capacity split between port and starboard tanks.
The interior showcases teak throughout, creating a warm, classic aesthetic. Two cabins include a port-side double berth and a forward V-berth with generous storage. A single head contains a freestanding shower with bench seating. The galley on the port side features a double stainless sink, three-burner Force 10 propane stove with oven, and a Dometic top-loading refrigerator with freezer. The open pilot house contains a spacious settee with dining table and lower helm station, offering bright and airy accommodation.
The hull and teak decks are reported in excellent condition. Canvas covers protect the cap rail brightwork, and a tan Bimini with stainless steel frame shelters the teak-decked cockpit. Vinyl-covered stainless lifelines and teak handrails run along the superstructure and at key locations. A Muir windlass handles ground tackle, which includes a plow anchor with chain and a secondary fluke anchor. An eight-foot Avon dinghy with electric outboard motor comes aboard with a stainless steel davit system. Power systems include three 12-volt house batteries and one engine battery. The boat is equipped with four Bowmar aluminum hatches with Lexan panels and carries full USCG safety equipment.
