1985 Beneteau First 325

The Beneteau First 325 is a 32-foot fiberglass performance cruiser designed by Jean Berret, known for its balanced blend of coastal cruising capability and racing potential. Built with a fiberglass hull and balsa-cored deck, the boat carries a Volvo Penta MD2002 diesel engine of 20 horsepower, providing reliable auxiliary power for maneuvering and docking. It cruises at 6 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 7.5 knots under power.

The interior accommodates two private cabins—a forward V-berth and an aft double cabin—plus convertible saloon settees that extend sleeping capacity for up to six people. A single head supports the living space. The galley includes a stove updated in 2013, and the cabin headliner was replaced that same year.

The sail plan comprises a main sail installed in 2021 and a roller furling genoa dating from 2006 with minor stitching repairs completed in 2009. Rigging improvements include a fixed boom vang and main halyard fitted in 2017. The hull was cleaned, waxed, and bottom painted in 2024, following a regular biannual maintenance schedule.

Engine and system maintenance has been consistent: the oil was changed in April 2025, the fuel filter replaced in October 2024, and batteries installed in September 2023. The fuel tank underwent professional removal and cleaning in 2017. Supporting systems include a repaired battery charger from 2018 and a manually replaced bilge pump from 2016. This First 325 reflects decades of responsible ownership and regular upkeep.
