The 1985 Bluewater 51 Coastal Cruiser is a 51-foot fiberglass cruiser designed for both inland waterways and coastal waters. Twin Crusader gasoline engines producing 700 horsepower drive the boat to a cruising speed of 12 knots with a maximum speed of 18 knots. The 14.5-foot beam provides substantial interior volume throughout the yacht, while a low profile hull makes boarding from the dock straightforward without requiring ladders.
The layout includes two staterooms, each with an en-suite electric head and shower. The master stateroom features a bathtub. The deck plan offers 35 feet of upper deck space, with wide side decks and a swim platform providing easy access around the boat. The shallow 24-inch draft opens access to shallow-water anchorages and allows for boarding via ladder points at both bow and stern.
The fiberglass hull is built thick, suitable for shallow-water operation. During a refit, the yacht rails were raised to meet current safety compliance standards. The boat combines comfortable cruising accommodations with practical seakeeping qualities suited to extended time on the water.
