1985 Hatteras 82 Convertible

This 1985 Hatteras 82 was factory-extended to 88 feet by the builder, creating a rare cockpit motor yacht with enhanced cruising range and accommodations. Twin Detroit Diesel 12V71TA engines deliver 700 horsepower each, achieving a cruising speed of 9 knots and top speed of 12 knots. The fiberglass hull features a soft chine design with solid structural integrity, supported by twin 4-blade bronze props, a hydraulic swim grid, and trim tabs. Naiad active fin stabilizers and a hydraulic bow thruster enhance seakeeping and maneuverability.

The pilothouse and flybridge command stations are fully equipped with dual Furuno radar systems, GPS and Navionics chartplotters, dual Raytheon autopilots, and six large display screens. Communication systems include dual VHF radios and NMEA 2000 vessel monitoring. Twin Northern Lights generators (12kW and 30kW) support a 10-zone air conditioning system, water maker, and comprehensive electrical infrastructure across multiple voltage systems.

Interior spaces include a full-beam master stateroom with ensuite and walk-in closet, two guest cabins each with private heads, crew quarters with two cabins, and five heads total throughout. The galley features premium appliances including Miele cooktop and oven, Gaggenau dishwasher, and Fisher & Paykel refrigeration. A spacious salon with entertainment systems, laundry facilities, and extensive storage complete the layout.

A 2022 major refit included top-end engine rebuilds by Cullen Diesel. The engine room is clean and professionally maintained with labelled service intervals. The hull shows minor cosmetic blistering only, while bronze through-hulls remain in excellent condition. Deck features include faux teak decking, Kiwigrip non-skid surfaces, an electric davit system, Maxwell windlass with 400 feet of rode and chain, and a Walker Bay RIB tender with 60HP Tohatsu engine. Safety systems include CO₂ fire suppression and comprehensive emergency equipment.
