The Hinterhoeller Niagara 35 Encore is a 35-foot fiberglass cruising yacht designed by Mark Ellis and built by George Hinterhoeller in St. Catharines, Ontario. The design has proven itself with long-distance cruising, including circumnavigations by satisfied owners. The boat features a comfortable layout both below and on deck, with a wide beam of 11.42 feet that contributes to its spacious feel. Power comes from a 27 hp Westerbeke diesel engine.
The interior is arranged with a large forward double berth separated from the main saloon by a head and shower. A U-shaped galley sits to port just inside the companionway, while a quarterberth and navigation station occupy the starboard side. The main saloon features settees on both sides with a generous dining table to port; the table swings out to provide additional space for the starboard settee. The boat has been used exclusively in fresh water.
The current owner has invested substantially in the yacht's upkeep since 2009, including professional hull and deck maintenance, refinished fiberglass around new instruments, replacement lifelines and rigging, a new wheel pedestal, and a new dodger, bimini, and stack pack for the main sail completed in early 2025. The interior cushions were replaced with new foam and marine-grade upholstery. Refrigeration was overhauled around 2018. The original Westerbeke engine has approximately 1,300 hours and receives annual service. The boat includes a small Gala dinghy with a 3.5 hp Tohatsu outboard engine, plus additional canvas and a spinnaker pole.
