1985 Kadey-Krogen 42

This 1985 Kadey-Krogen 42 is a fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising and self-sufficient operation. Twin thrusters—bow and stern—along with Naiad stabilizers make her manageable for a couple. A diesel Ford engine of 135 horsepower provides reliable propulsion. The boat carries substantial systems for offshore work: a generator, solar panels, a large battery bank, and a water-maker for independence at remote anchorages.

The interior arranges two cabins and two heads for comfortable living aboard. Layout and accommodations support extended time at sea with full cruising capability throughout open water.

The boat has undergone significant structural work. In 2007, her hull was strengthened and vinyl-esterized by Osprey Marine Composites. That same year, her decks were completely replaced with new teak and the hull was fully re-gelcoated. In 2004, the top deck was re-cored and Awl-gripped. A bow thruster was installed in 2020. The boat has been stored hauled out during winter months over many years to maintain her condition.
