1985 Mason 33

This 1985 Mason 33 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built at Taiwan's Ta Shing shipbuilder. The boat features teak and holly interior sole with satin teak throughout, combining classic construction with a comprehensive modern electronics suite. A brand new Yanmar 3YM30AE diesel engine with fewer than 50 hours powers auxiliary propulsion, backed by dedicated house and engine starting battery banks.

The layout centers on a well-appointed salon with a navigation station to port featuring a protective plexi glass port over the chart table, and a galley to starboard equipped with a new Dickerson propane stove and oven, deep double sink, and ice box. Outboard settees with a fixed table and pop-up leaves accommodate six for dining. Forward lies a spacious V-berth cabin with a filler cushion enlarging the berth, hanging locker, and storage cabinets on each side, plus a large overhead hatch for ventilation. The enclosed head features a fiberglass interior, stainless steel sink, and hand-held shower.

On deck, the sloop carries Bank Sails CruiseMate Plus mainsail and genoa in 7.3 oz Dacron with a Harken MKIV jib reefing and furling system, US Forespar aluminum mast and boom, and a lazy jack system for easy sail handling. Wide teak decks with handholds, a substantial steering wheel, and well-organized control lines define the working cockpit. The foredeck carries a Rochna anchor with 200 feet of 3/8-inch BBB chain rode plus a secondary plow anchor.

Electronics include B&G Zeus multifunction displays, Halo 20 dome radar, Triton 2 autopilot controller with Robertson AP 3000X and Simrad HLD350 hydraulic drive units, AIS transponder, wind pack, and depth/speed/temp instrumentation. The electrical system features a Deluxe PAE AC/DC distribution panel, four NorthStar AGM house and start batteries, 30-amp shore power, and a Heart Interface inverter/charger. Additional systems include a Dometic reverse cycle air conditioner, Atwood water heater, and comprehensive safety equipment.
