The Norseman 447 is a 44-foot fiberglass sailing yacht designed by Robert Perry and built by Ta Shing Yacht Builders. This cutter-rigged passagemaker combines robust construction with refined accommodations suited for extended cruising. The boat is powered by a single 61 hp Lehmann diesel engine and carries a 10-foot Zodiac tender with 8 hp Tohatsu outboard.
Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and two heads arranged for comfortable extended voyages. The accommodations reflect the design's focus on seaworthiness and livability.
The boat has received substantial maintenance and upgrades through 2026. In 2019, work included fabricating a new G10 mast step, replacing compression tubes and mast wiring, installing a new storm trysail track, repainting spars, fitting all bronze through-hulls, fabricating new spreader tips, and resurfacing the strut. The engine exhaust system was updated with a new elbow and custom through-hull flange. Recent work through 2020 covered a new raw water pump for the main engine, similar service for the 5kw Northern Lights genset, replacement of portlights with custom stainless steel units, new stainless lifelines, and a fresh barrier coat. The bottom was painted in 2022 with Trinidad 75 antifouling, and the deck was refitted with new Raptor decking in 2023. Recent 2024-2026 work included generator exhaust hose and aft chain replacement, plus addition of an EPIRB.
