This 1985 Passport 47 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built for serious cruising. At 47 feet with a 14-foot beam, she carries substantial sail capacity with roller furling head, main, and cutter sails, plus a hanked stormjib. The boat is rigged and equipped for single-handed operation, with a powerful windlass, dual anchors (one stainless steel Danforth), and an SSB radio with backstay antenna.
Below deck, accommodations include a pullman berth amidships and a guest cabin aft. The yacht has been recently upgraded with a new reverse-cycle air conditioning system, new hot water heater, new high-volume bilge pump, diesel heater, and generator. A water maker and solar panels support extended cruising. The propane system has new hoses and a new cutoff valve. Topsides, the teak deck has been removed and the cockpit has new cushions. Updated interior fabrics and a rigid bottom dinghy complete the package.
The sails—a 70-jib, 110-jib, main, and storm jib—require cleaning and minor repair. The refrigeration system needs updating. One fuel tank has a small leak and is currently empty; the remaining tank holds nearly 100 gallons. A new Yanmar turbo diesel with folding prop powers the yacht, and she carries a dodger and bimini for weather protection.
