The Bristol 38.8 is a classic Ted Hood design, respected for its solid construction, refined hull shape, and strong sailing characteristics. This example is a fiberglass centerboard cruiser measuring 38 feet in length with a 12-foot beam, powered by a Nanni 50-horsepower diesel engine. The shoal draft and 58-foot bridge clearance make it well-suited for shallow-water cruising in areas like the Intracoastal Waterway, Chesapeake Bay, and the Bahamas.
Recent upgrades include a replaced water heater, new diesel tank pick-up tube, and a new windlass motor. The engine has approximately 200 hours on it. A 2022 dodger and 2022 diesel forced-air heater have been added, along with new interior cushions from S&S Fabrics Portsmouth. The galley is equipped with a three-burner Force 10 stove and oven. An upgraded exhaust system is also in place.
